Your role will ensure that the facilities remain safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for both residents and staff. If you have a passion for making a positive impact in a healthcare setting, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
What You’ll Do:
Support and Lead: Work alongside the Facility Services Supervisor to lead a dedicated team, ensuring smooth and efficient facilities operations.
Preventative Maintenance: Manage and maintain programs to keep equipment in top shape, preventing costly repairs and ensuring residents’ needs are met without disruption.
Collaborative Work: Oversee maintenance schedules, conduct inspections, and work closely with staff and external vendors to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
Facility Audits & Education: Conduct regular audits to maintain cleanliness and safety standards, and provide essential staff training in areas like infection control, safety protocols, and life safety.
Vendor and Contract Management: Help manage vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality service and the best possible outcomes for the facility.
Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to the team, helping them grow in their roles while ensuring a safe and positive work environment.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure that maintenance services comply with all required legislation and contribute to risk management to keep the home a safe, healthy space for residents and staff alike.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. A minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role.
Heart for Healthcare: Ideally, you’ll have experience in a Long-Term Care or Geriatric Facility, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of such environments.
Technical Know-How: Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance protocols, plus familiarity with applicable regulations (e.g., Ontario Building Code, Fire Codes, WHMIS, and more).
Team-Oriented: A collaborative spirit and a knack for leading and coaching teams. Experience managing unionized staff is a plus.
Problem Solver: Ability to troubleshoot, think on your feet, and ensure that everything runs smoothly, even in challenging situations.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
